RAMADAN RUSH FOR REWARDS 2017
This Ramadan, be a part of Muslim Women’s Alliance’s annual community service push:
Ramadan Rush for Rewards (RRR). Join hundreds of volunteers of all ages caring for people of all faiths and backgrounds.

“Indeed, the men who practice charity and the women who practice charity and [they who] have loaned Allah a goodly loan – it will be multiplied for them, and they will have a noble reward” (Quran 57:18)

EVENT 1 – FEED A FAMILY

MWA is excited to assemble and distribute food baskets for 500 families with YOUR help! Your generous donations of $200 (zakat eligible) will feed Muslim families in need, during this blessed month. We encourage you to donate now so that families can benefit from your generosity throughout the month of Ramadan!

EVENT 2 – Iftar With Our Muslim Neighbors

Celebrate Ramadan with Muslims of diverse backgrounds and reverts celebrating their first Ramadan. We will be enjoying food, sharing stories, and learning new traditions. This community iftar is open to all. We welcome all of you as our guest. Please rsvp so we can ensure we have an accurate headcount for food.

EVENT 3 – Serving the Homeless
Prepare and serve breakfast at several homeless shelters throughout the Chicagoland area. Participants must be 12 and older. Registration will open closer to Ramadan.

EVENT 4 – Care, Comfort & Collect
Help pack brown bag lunches for senior citizens and the homeless. We will also be assembling ChemoCare Kits, and making blankets for long-term care patients. There will also be a summer reading school drive. Let’s keep deserving students engaged all summer with backpacks with workbooks and activities. Please donate generously.

EVENT 5: Words to Live By
Learn to gain a deeper connection with our Lord and find new ways to call on Him. Do not miss out on this spiritual workshop with two inspirational women scholars. This class will be taught by Hafidha Maryam Salman and Alimah Sana Mohiuddin.

Alimah Sana Mohiuddin has a graduate degree in family marital therapy, and received her ijaza in Islamic jurisprudence, Quranic explanation, and hadith from Jaamia Zaynab lil banaat in Lusaka, Zambia. She is currently teaching various courses at Ribaat, and is a mother of four living in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Hafidha Maryam Salman has a degree in early childhood and elementary education, has spent three years in Damascus studying Arabic and jurispendence. She completed the memorization of the Quran and received her ijaza from Shaykh Abu al-Hasan al-Kurdi. She is actively involved in teaching, and is a mother of three and resides in Chicago, Illinois.
