Muslim Women's Alliance, a 501c3 non-profit organization, is dedicated to empowering Muslim women and girls. MWA's core focus areas are development of leaders, fostering community service, mentoring women and empowering the community through social justice awareness and action.
MWA develops & elevates women and girls into leaders through annual conferences, online seminars and workshops, Also MWA supports women through our needs-based Aisha scholarship program and through Khadija Fund, a microgrant program for domestic violence survivors.
MWA fosters community service across Chicago's diverse communities. We provide opportunities for volunteers to give back locally to our neighbors in need, refugees, incarcerated sisters and brothers, homeless shelters, domestic violence victims and more.
MWA Mentorship initiative has 3 mentoring programs: (1) High school (2) Community-based program providing resources and tools to underserved girls and women (3) Emerging Leaders program supporting college students and young professionals.
MWA is spearheading the movement to bring gender equity back in to mosques in accordance with the Prophetic tradition. MWA works with masjids to ensure women have access, leadership roles, platform for female speakers
Muslim Women’s Alliance Scholarship program annually empowers female students seeking higher education. Each year, as part of our Aisha Scholarship program, MWA grants two Illinois Muslim girls scholarships for higher education.
