MWA Operations Manager

The position’s primary responsibility is ensuring organizational effectiveness by providing administrative support to allow the organization to execute its vision and programing. Working with the board of directors, project managers and volunteers, the position also contributes to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies and practices.

Administrative Management
● Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of organizations mission — specifically, support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning.
● Regular meetings with Executive Director around task tracking.
● Supervise and manage office space and staff as needed.
● Serve as primary liaison to legal counsel in addressing legal issues e.g. copyright, antitrust, governing instruments, partnerships, licensing etc. by providing necessary documents and maintaining time sensitive correspondence.

Financial Management
● Organization of fiscal documents.
● Assisting Executive Director and Board in creating annual organizational budget
● Managing grantor contracts by tracking grant monies received and spent per program.
● Maintain and monitor fundraising strategy and procedures including preparing donor cultivation reports, managing private donor events and capturing pledges at events.

Program Management
● Responsible to lead and coordinate all Programming for MWA such as workshops, seminars, and events hosted by MWA.
● Manage, lead, and coordinate all community service activities including the Ramadan Rush for Rewards program. This will entail working with other volunteer program managers to ensure the events go smoothly and coordinate with all key parties.
● Lead the coordination of the annual MWA celebration conference and lunch including coordinating with venue, speakers, volunteers to plan event logistics, programming, favors, honoree award process, and day of coordination.
● Coordinate mentorship program activities between planning for the annual retreats as well as quarterly programming.
● Assist executing the strategy for the inclusive spaces program with distributing and collecting surveys, attending meetings with masjid board, and helping with outreach.

Qualifications & Requirements

● 4 year College Degree
● Flexible work schedule. Work commitments include pre-scheduled nights and weekends as needed.
● Excellent computer skills and proficient in Google suite programs
● Familiarity with CRM programs a plus
● Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
● Some experience in bookkeeping a plus
● Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
● A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards
● Knowledge of tax and other compliance implications of non-profit status a plus
● Excels at operating in an fast pace, community environment
● Excellent people manager, open to direction and +Collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done
● Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization.
● Delegate responsibilities effectively
● 1-3 years experience working in an office environment and having operations experience.
